PREVALENCE OF RIFAMPICIN RESISTANCE AND PROBES IDENTIFICATION OF 81BP RRDR RPO-B GENE IN PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS PATIENTS OF DISTRICT BANNU, PAKISTAN

Background: Tuberculosis is a major public health problem in developing countries due to the emergence of drug resistance against conventional anti-tuberculosis drugs. Rifampicin considered be one most potent first-line anti-TB drugs but cases, it has lost its efficiency bacterial resistance. The objective this study was detect prevalence rifampicin-resistance and probe mutation 81bp RRDR rpo-B gene Pulmonary TB patients District Bannu, Pakistan. Materials methods: This cross-sectional conducted Department Pathology, Bannu Medical College, from March 2021 June 2021. samples were collected for period January 2014 December 2018 laboratory tests performed at facility DHQ hospital A total 1965 sputum processed by Xpert MTB/RIF assay using standard N-Acetyl-L-cysteine–NaOH technique. Results: Among cases 1382 MTB positive rifampicin-resistant detected (RRD) among 1382(70.33%) pulmonary isolates 75(5.6%). rpo-β Gene highest E; 42(56%) followed B; 16(21%), D 09(12%), 04(5.3%), C 2(2.66%) B&D/E&D; 01(1.33%). Conclusion: From current study, been concluded that RRD Pakistan 5.6% common having rate 56% 21%, D; 12%, A; 5.3%, C; 2.66% B&D/C&D; 1.33%.
